DCLM Daily Manna 6 March 2020 Devotional By Pastor W.F Kumuyi – Heartfelt Plea

TOPIC: Heartfelt Plea

TEXT: Psalm 17:1-15
1. Hear the right, O LORD, attend unto my cry, give ear unto my prayer, that goeth not out of feigned lips.

2. Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal.

3. Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.

4. Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.

5. Hold up my goings in thy paths, that my footsteps slip not.

6. I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God; incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.

7. Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee from those that rise up against them.

8. Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,

9. From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.

10. They are inclosed in their own fat; with their mouth they speak proudly.

11. They have now compassed us in our steps; they have set their eyes bowing down to the earth;

12. Like as a lion that is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.

13. Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down; deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword;

14. From men which are thy hand, O LORD, from men of the world, which have their portion in this life, and whose belly thou fillest with thy hid treasure; they are full of children, and leave the rest of their substance to their babes.

15. As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness.

KEY VERSE: “Arise, O LORD, disappoint him, cast him down: deliver my soul from the wicked, which is thy sword.” – (Psalm 17:13)

MESSAGE: When the Roman Empire was being sacked by the hordes of godless barbarians that invaded the territory in the fifth century, Leo, the praying Bishop of Rome, approached Attila the Hun, leader of the occupying armies, to plead for the Church and the city. He made a passionate plea that Rome be spared from the savagery and the destruction that had attended the attacks of the soldiers. Leo warned Attila not to risk the vengeance of heaven by plundering Rome and the Church. He listened to the churchman’s desperate prayer and withdrew his men.

DCLM Daily Manna 6 March 2020 – More than one thousand five hundred years earlier, David, the future king of Israel, had also found himself in a tight corner that threatened his existence the same way the Church and the city of Rome were about to be brought to their knees. He and his men were being hounded by King Saul.

As no help was in sight and with Saul seeming to close in on him and his men, David turned to heaven for help. He spoke of coming face to face with death. It was not all despair, however, as he also talked of the mercy and power of a great God who saves those who sincerely call on Him in times of danger. The Lord did not disappoint the young man who discarded his own military prowess and called for divine intervention when he was at his wits’ end. David had the last laugh as the Lord gave him the final victory and confounded Saul.

Man is also ensnared by problems he has brought on himself through the pursuit of false philosophy and rebellious religion, all of which have alienated him from God and the truth. He cannot get relief or redemption in any earth-bound solution. Only a renunciation of the world’s sin and a plea to God for help can deliver him.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Man without God is helpless in the face of satanic challenges.

Our Daily Bread 6 March 2020 Devotional – Two Are Better

Bible in a Year: Deuteronomy 1–2, Mark 10:1–31

Key Verse: Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. – Ecclesiastes 4:9

Today’s Scripture: Ecclesiastes 4:9–11(NIV)

Insight: Along with Job, Psalms, Proverbs, and Song of Solomon, Ecclesiastes is classified as one of the Wisdom books of Scripture. Wisdom books, which emphasize the supreme value of fearing God (Ecclesiastes 8:1312:13), help the reader to navigate the good and not-so-good—the bitter and sweet of this life—from God’s perspective and to trust Him. Given Wisdom literature’s goal—to help its readers to “live skillfully”—it shouldn’t surprise us to find numerous occurrences in the book of Ecclesiastes of the word better or the phrase better than. The comparative value of wisdom is stressed in passages such as “Wisdom is better than folly, just as light is better than darkness” (2:13); “Wisdom is better than strength” (9:16); “Wisdom is better than weapons of war” (9:18). We also see this emphasis in Proverbs: “For she [wisdom] is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold” (3:14).

Our Daily Bread 6 March 2020 Message: In the 1997 Ironman Triathlon in Hawaii, two women fought to stay on their feet as they hobbled toward the finish line. Exhausted, the runners persevered on wobbly legs, until Sian Welch bumped into Wendy Ingraham. They both dropped to the ground. Struggling to stand, they stumbled forward, only to fall again about twenty meters from the finish line. When Ingraham began to crawl, the crowd applauded. When her competitor followed suit, they cheered louder. Ingraham crossed the finish line in fourth place, and she slumped into the outstretched arms of her supporters. Then she turned and reached out to her fallen sister. Welch lunged her body forward, stretching her weary arm toward Ingraham’s hand and across the finish line. As she completed the race in fifth place, the crowd roared their approval.

This pair’s completion of the 140-mile swimming, biking, and running race inspired many. But the image of the weary competitors persevering together remains ingrained in my mind, affirming the life-empowering truth in Ecclesiastes 4:9–11.

There’s no shame in admitting we require assistance in life (v. 9), especially since we can’t honestly deny our needs or hide them from our all-knowing God. At one time or another, we’ll all fall, whether physically or emotionally. Knowing we’re not alone can comfort us as we persevere. As our loving Father helps us, He empowers us to reach out to others in need, affirming they too aren’t alone.

Reflect & Pray
How has someone helped you? How can you encourage others this week?

All-powerful God, thank You for reassuring us of Your constant presence as You help us and give us opportunities to reach out and help others.

MFM Mountain Top Life Devotional 6 March 2020 By Dr D.K Olukoya – Say: No To Ignorance

TOPIC: Say: No To Ignorance

MEMORY VERSE: James 1:5 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”

FIRE SCRIPTURE: Dan. 1:8-15; Proverbs 22:29

MESSAGE: If you must excel in life, you must say no to ignorance. You must discover your virtues. To get to the top, you must maximize your potentials. There was a brother who was unhappy and so he was depressed. Yet, he was a child of God. He went to his friend who was also attending the same church as him to complain. His friend then took him to one fetish priest, with the conviction that everything is not all about church. When they got to the witch doctor’s place, the priest told the brother to stay outside and he asked: “Why? But, I’m one who has come for help.”

The man insisted that he should step outside. So, he went out. The witch-doctor now warned the friend not to bring that kind of person to him again, because, according to him: “The man has fire in him and, since he has fire in him, you don’t bring such people here, because they will spoil my powers.” The witch-doctor told the friend to “Tell him to go back to where he received fire.” He made it categorically clear that only that place will solve his problems. His friend, however, told the herbalist that he could not deliver the message.

So, the witch-doctor went to the brother standing outside and said: “You have fire. People like you do not come to us. Go back to where you received your fire; and your problems will be solved.” Here was a believer who had the fire of the Holy Spirit within. He had divine investments in him but he did not know. He wanted to cast his pearls before pigs.

MFM Mountain Top Life Devotional 6 March 2020 – When a child is born in Africa, they will take the child to a witch-doctor to check the child’s destiny. Do you know that 99% of what they see will be correct? The enemy can see your star, when you yourself cannot see it. It is a tragedy for you to have divine investments, or attributes of which you are completely unaware. You must strive to know who you are in reality and what God has in store for you.

Do not underrate yourself. And, do not seek help from those who are, in fact, in need of serious help and who have nothing to offer you. Strive for excellence, as excellence can only be achieved through diligence. To stand before kings you must strive to be the best.

MOTIVATIONAL QUOTE: The scheme of destiny lies in heavens archive. As far as God is concerned nothing happens by accident. Get the scheme and get your destiny right.

PROPHETIC WORD: Every power that is pressing down your head shall be shifted away and you shall trample upon them.

Open Heaven 6 March 2020 Devotional By Pastor E.A Adeboye – Prayers For The Church

TOPIC: Prayers For The Church

MEMORISE:
“These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.” – (Acts 1:14)

READ: Acts 1:1-18 (KJV)
1. The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,

2. Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen;

3. To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God;

4. And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

5. For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

6. When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

7. And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

8. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you; and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

9. And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

10. And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;

11. Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

12. Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey.

13. And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.

14. These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

15. And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)

16. Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.

17. For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.

18. Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.

PRAYERS: Open Heaven 6 March 2020
1. Praise the Head of the Church, glorify the One who established the Body of Christ, bless His name, adore His Excellency exalt Him above all things.

2. Father, let Your fire fall and put an end to all forms of lukewarmness in Your Church.

3. Father, let Your fire fall and consume any agent of the devil, any plant that You have not planted in Your church.

4. Father, You promised us that the gate of hell will not prevail against Your church; destroy every enemy of the Church today, in the mighty name of Jesus.

5. Father, empower Your church as in the days of old so that miracles will become commonplace again amongst us.

6. Father, unite Your church like the Apostles were united at the Upper Room so that we can begin to do the impossible. Remove strife, envy and unhealthy competition in Your church.

7. Father, let Your church not be ordinary, let our voices be heard and impact felt all over the world in the mighty name of Jesus

8. Father, please help every local assembly that needs Your help in one way or the other.

9. Father, raise faithful men who will be sold out for You in this generation, to serve You with all their heart and all their might.

10. Father, every assembly or denomination where there is conflict, please Lord, calm the storm.

11. Father, every group, society or establishment terrorising Your church, if they refuse to repent, send Your fire into their midst and let them destroy themselves in the mighty name of Jesus.

12. Pray for your local assembly.

I join my faith with yours and pray that God will grant your requests in the mighty name of Jesus.

KEY POINT:
An excellent spirit should be in every Christian because we have the excellent Father living in us.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Numbers 28-30

HYMNAL: Hymn 30 – When we walk with the Lord
1. When we walk with the Lord,
In the light of His word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

CHORUS:
Trust and obey!
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.

2. Not a shadow can rise,
Not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away;
Not a doubt nor a fear,
Not a sigh nor a tear,
Can abide while we trust and obey.

3. Not a burden we bear,
Not a sorrow we share
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief nor a loss,
Nor a frown nor a cross,
But is blest if we trust and obey.

4. But we never can prove
The delights of His love,
Until all on the altar we lay,
For the favour He shows
And the joy He bestows
Are for them who will trust and obey.

5. Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet,
Or we’ll walk by His side in the way,
What He says we will do,
Where He sends we will go,
Never fear, only trust and obey.
